Senior SW Designer

Woolman, Europe’s leading Shopify Premier Partner, is looking for a Senior SW Designer to design and implement innovative and reliable payment solutions. If you’re ready to make an impact in the worlds of e-commerce and fintech, keep reading!

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior SW Designer to join and grow our Payment Partner Solutions team. In this role, you will have two main responsibilities;

• Design and implement high quality software implementations
• Collaborate with the team to enhance tech & team skills, while simultaneously expanding your own knowledge

We develop & deliver payment software and related services for international Payment Service Providers (PSPs), in the Shopify ecosystem. Our current payment solution contains our serverless PSP Middleware product, project deliveries, and continuous services for additional SW development, customer support and cloud based hosting.

Usually we start customer cooperation with the adaptation project and move smoothly to continuous services mode. We work in a DevOps mode, and we have developed & delivered several payment solutions with high customer satisfaction rates. The team is highly experienced and talented, and we aim for continuous improvement and a high level of automation. This position is available for applicants already residing in Finland. We offer remote and office working, you can choose whichever suits you best. We have offices in Jyväskylä, Tampere and Helsinki to meet & greet with colleagues in person. We work flexibly, with members collaborating both in our offices and remotely. We ensure you have the tools and resources needed to succeed.

In this Senior SW Designer’s role you are expected to;

• Create SW requirements & user stories, based on discussions and customer documentation
• Create SW designs and specifications on more complex features
• Create high quality implementations and maintain version control
• Develop new and maintain existing codebase
• Contribute to specifications and merge request reviews, with a focus on quality
• Test and deploy SW releases
• Maintain the CI/CD pipeline, develop environments further
• Contribute in customer meetings in a technical expert’s role
• Participate in new sales cases with potential new customers, provide ideas & aim for mutual understanding
• Innovate for the future (e.g. our new SaaS based service model is currently under planning)
• Share your ideas and knowledge with your new and talented colleagues
  

• 5+ years of SW development experience in general
• 3+ years of SW development experience with;
  - JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Node.js and React with TypeScript)
  - Serverless platforms and implementations (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  - API / integration implementations
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or in a related field.
• Solution centric and proactive attitude
• Teamwork skills, willingness to help and share knowledge
• Understanding of SW Development processes, desire to develop them further
• Professional English and Finnish language skills, Swedish would be a bonus
• Experience from the Fintech and/or Shopify solutions would be considered as an advantage
• Current residence in Finland
