Data Solutions Consultant

Ellis is our cutting-edge solution for unified commerce, providing data-driven tools that help consumer brands and retailers grow smarter and faster. As a Data Solutions Consultant, you’ll help customers unlock Ellis's full potential by guiding them through ready-to-use features and tailoring only the most essential custom solutions to meet their unique business needs.

You’ll work closely with clients to map their needs and transform those into feasible, high-impact customisations and new product features in Ellis. Your focus will be on understanding the critical business-specific needs that go beyond our out-of-the-box solutions and creating needed dashboards, reporting solutions, and data insights that drive better business decisions.

Customer Engagement:

• Engage with clients to understand their reporting and customization needs.
  
• Guide customers to feasible solutions, ensuring customizations align with both Ellis’s capabilities and business goals.
  

Customer-Focused Customization:

• Leverage Ellis’s ready-made tools and implement custom solutions only where truly needed.
  
• Translate customer needs into actionable solutions: dashboards, data visualizations, insights and product features.
  
• Execute customizations and product improvements directly, taking ownership of both technical implementation and solution delivery.
  

Collaboration & Innovation:

• Be an active member of the Ellis product development team – we’re a small, startup-minded group within Woolman, and everyone plays a hands-on role in shaping the product.
  
• Turn customer insights and business needs into tangible product enhancements, contributing to the ongoing evolution of Ellis.
  

We’re looking for a proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives at the intersection of data, technology, and business. 

Ideally, you have:

• Strong experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• Solid SQL skills for querying and data manipulation
• Basic programming experience (e.g., Python, JavaScript)
• Strong data visualization skills: understand what works for different business contexts
• Ability to translate customer reporting needs into usable, logical, and visually clear dashboards
• Customer engagement skills: able to challenge, guide, and co-create meaningful solutions
• Experience working with consumer brands, D2C, or e-commerce businesses with a strong understanding of KPIs and business logic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English
  

Preferred (but not required – having these skills is a great advantage):

• Experience with Looker
• Proficiency in Python for data handling and automation
• Knowledge of Shopify or broader e-commerce platforms
